Always Hurting The Ones You Love?
You may probably have the experience of disagreeing or even getting mad with someone close to you, such as your parents, children, husband or wife. It is true that those who are the closest to us may upset us knowingly.
When we are arguing with others, we are almost losing control, and will say or do something which are not appropriate which hurt others deeply. Actually, we won’t say these even to a stranger, but we say these out to our beloved, it really hurts.
Many people often say things that would hurt their loved ones when they get angry or upset. But no matter what the underlying reason is, showing your anger is not the best way to solve the problem.
Why are we much kinder to strangers than to someone close to us? Why are we angry with our beloved ones much more frequently? It is because our hearts tend to be more open to those we love.
It is not an issue for us to open our hearts for the ones we love, but we have to notice that opening our hearts for someone also means that we would be more emotionally tied to that person. This is the reason why we tend to express more anger towards the ones we love when stressful things occur.
No people will engage in a long term relationship for bad purposes. You would not marry your partner with the purpose of having quarrels or hurting him or her. However, we can be besotted with anger so easily that we may do something hurtful to our loved ones. This can spoil our relationships with them.
One danger of anger is that it can turn into violence when a sense of revenge emerges. To avoid such situation, a person has to be highly mature and be able to control his/her emotions well. Thus, whenever an argument arises, you should try to calm down and pay attention to your emotions and actions. We often make impulsive choices unconsciously and this can lead to great dangers.
Thus, in order to maintain good relationships with our loved ones, we must try to understand our inner feelings more and try to control our emotions even during stressful times.
