How I Created My Perfect Beach Wedding
Nothing is more romantic than a summer wedding, set at a beach. With water as the backdrop and sand as the carpet, a beach wedding brings natural elements together to forge a perfect union.
Breaking the mold of a large church wedding, a beach wedding is more intimate, and suited for a couple that enjoy the outdoors, wants something unique, and are adventurous. Destination weddings are very popular – where the guests are flown in (either a their own expense or that of the couple) to such exotic settings as Cancun, Hawaii, or Barbados. Most couples, however, do not have the money for a destination wedding, so opt for a local beach, or poolside decorated to look like a beach.
Once you have these two items nailed down then can you consider finer details like whether or not you want a beach sunset or a beach sunrise. If the sunset is what you after then its best to go to the western shores of you chosen region.
My sister has a lot of experience with weddings and is capable of going over lots of details that I would never think about. She suggested that I should get married in the morning because of the position of the sun, so that we will not have our photos taken with everyone squinting because the sun is in our eyes the entire time.
Yes, 7 months and some people thought it was far too early, but given the current financial situation, I thought it would be best to give all guests enough time to plan their own budget for any clothes and travel costs they may incur. I also made sure that everyone RSVP’s within a month of receiving an invite.
Makeup and hair will be natural. Hair can be lightly twisted up and pinned with beautiful barrettes or hairpins. A birdcage veil, short and lightweight, or long flowing veil with a dainty tiara will make ideal accents, as well as add that romantic touch. There isn’t anything that can compete with a summer wedding in a beach setting for romance, elegance, and serenity.
